Skin boosting treatments may be used to improve the appearance of:
- Dry or dehydrated-looking skin
- Fine lines
- Crepey-looking skin
- Uneven or rough skin texture
- Overall skin smoothness
- Skin quality and radiance
Common treatment areas may include the:
- Face
- Neck
- Décolletage/chest
- Backs of the hands
Treatment areas and suitability depend on the specific product being used and your individual assessment.
Unlike traditional dermal filler treatments that may be used to restore volume or enhance facial contours, skin boosters are primarily used to improve hydration and skin quality.
Small amounts of hyaluronic acid are placed at multiple points within the treatment area using a fine needle or other appropriate injection technique. The exact injection pattern, depth and amount depend on the product being used and the area being treated.
A topical numbing cream may be applied before treatment for comfort.
Skin boosting treatments can also form part of a broader skin rejuvenation plan. Depending on your concerns, Dr. Ray may recommend combining or sequencing treatment with options such as Morpheus8, microneedling, laser treatments or medical-grade skincare.
Before treatment, Dr. Ray will review your medical history, medications, supplements, allergies, previous injectable treatments and current skin concerns.
Let the clinic know if you have an active skin infection, recent illness, history of cold sores, previous reactions to injectable products or medications or supplements that may affect bleeding or bruising.
Avoid significant irritation or inflammation of the treatment area before your appointment and follow any additional preparation instructions provided by View Laser.
Temporary redness, swelling, tenderness, bruising and small bumps at injection sites may occur following treatment.
Avoid rubbing, massaging or applying unnecessary pressure to the treated area unless specifically instructed by your provider.
Strenuous exercise, excessive heat, saunas and other activities may need to be temporarily avoided following treatment.
Use gentle skincare and protect treated areas from excessive sun exposure while the skin settles.
Contact View Laser if you experience unexpected, severe or worsening pain, significant changes in skin colour or other concerning symptoms following treatment.
Individual results vary. Injectable skin boosting treatments carry potential risks including redness, swelling, bruising, tenderness, infection, nodules and vascular complications. Treatment suitability, product selection, injection technique and treatment schedule are determined following an individual assessment with Dr. Martin Ray, at View Laser Skin Rejuvenation, 1443 View Crescent, Delta, BC V4L 2K2. Cosmetic treatments are not covered by MSP. 604-943-9399.
