- TMJ/TMD and jaw muscle concerns
- Whiplash-associated muscle symptoms
- Persistent symptoms following concussion
- Bell’s palsy and facial muscle imbalance
- Muscle spasms
- Musculoskeletal imbalances
Botox® Therapeutic contains onabotulinumtoxinA. It works by temporarily reducing specific nerve signals in the area where it is administered.
Treatment begins with a medical history and assessment with Dr. Ray. If Botox® Therapeutic is appropriate, the dose, injection sites and treatment approach are selected according to the condition being treated and your individual needs.
Using a fine needle, small amounts of medication are injected into specific treatment areas. Appointment length varies depending on the condition, number of injection sites and treatment plan.
The timing of results also varies by condition and individual response. Dr. Ray will discuss what to expect based on the reason for your treatment.
Before treatment, provide Dr. Ray with a complete medical history and let him know about medications, supplements and other botulinum toxin treatments you have received.
It is particularly important to discuss any history of neurological conditions, muscle weakness, swallowing or breathing difficulties, bleeding concerns, previous surgeries, or infection at a proposed injection site. Let Dr. Ray know if you are pregnant, may be pregnant or are breastfeeding.
Additional instructions will be provided based on your condition and treatment plan.
Aftercare depends on the condition and areas treated. Temporary tenderness, redness, swelling or bruising may occur at injection sites.
Follow the personalized instructions provided by Dr. Ray and contact the clinic if you experience unexpected or concerning symptoms. Seek immediate medical attention for serious symptoms such as difficulty swallowing, speaking or breathing.
