PLATELET-RICH PLASMA (PRP)

A platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment involves drawing blood and spinning it down to create a concentration of platelets appropriate for the condition being treated. Using your own platelets and growth factors to signal, recruit, and activate your skin's regenerative process results in healthier, smoother, thicker, tighter, and more contoured skin. Some refer to this as the “vampire facial.”

Dr. Ray uses PRP to treat hair loss or tendonitis; for treating skin and joint conditions, uncrosslinked hyaluronic acid (HA) may be added to improve the result.

Treatment Details
Each treatment typically takes 30-40 minutes. A series of three treatments 2-4 weeks apart is usually recommended for optimal results. Dr. Ray uses ultra-fine needles and cannulas in this treatment.

Recovery & Results
For best results, combining this treatment with others such as laser treatments, skin care programs, hyaluronic acid (HA) injections, and prescription medications may be recommended. Most patients will recover within 24 hours, although some bruising may persist for up to 5 days. Overall skin health should always be maintained with proper home care as directed by Dr. Ray.

Used to treat:
Scarring (surgical, acne, injury), hair loss, tendonitis, arthritis, and osteoarthritis. Can also be used to treat skin conditions. Commonly used on the face and body, and may also be injected into the tear trough and eyelids to aid in tightening and thickening.

“I have had platelet-rich plasma treatments for a joint injury and to ease roughness and redness on my face, filler to soften my aging contours, and Botox to allow me to feel more calm and relaxed. I have been very satisfied with all my treatments, thanks to the care and attention from Dr Ray, Courtney, Madison Brittany and Alex.”
