How does it work?
Botulinum Toxin type A is a naturally-occurring purified protein that is produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. The substance is injected with a very fine needle into select muscles, blocking pain signals, and potentially the signals that contribute to the migraine.
What does the procedure involve?
You will receive a comprehensive medical evaluation from Dr. Ray to determine if this is the best method of treatment for you and if there is anything we can do additionally to help address your concern. The procedure is quick and comfortable allowing patients to return to daily activities immediately afterwards. Results are noticeable within 2-3 weeks and are maintained with retreatment every 3-4 months.
